West Yorkshire Spinners was founded in 1997 during a time when many spinning mills were closing due to the increase in yarns being imported from overseas. This was also a time when natural fibres were now in decline, giving way to synthetic, man-made fibres and an opportunity was spotted for more sustainable products.
West Yorkshire Spinners built a spinning mill from scratch with a strong reputation for high-quality natural-fibre yarns. They work closely with local farmers and champion British wool and its fascinating heritage. Today they have a range of unique and innovative products that demonstrate what can be achieved by blending British wool and manufacturing ingenuity.
Still a family business today, all West Yorkshire Spinners products are spun in the Aire Valley, West Yorkshire. They develop yarn blends and colours in-house taking inspiration from seasonal trends, as well as shades that suit the fibre.
